The government in Bahrain has forbidden social media users in the country from displaying any sympathy or support for Qatar.
The country is one of five - the others being Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates - which has severed ties with the country in an ongoing diplomatic row.
Doha is accused of creating instability in the Gulf region by supporting militia groups, an allegation it denies.
Now, the seat of power in Bahrain's capital Manama has warned online users risk a prison sentence and fine by expressing online support or sympathy towards Qatar.
The announcement was made in a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, which also said the media was under the same restrictions.
No criticism of Bahrain's allies will be tolerated under the decision.
The motion is the same as the decision taken by the United Arab Emirates regarding online support for the country.
