Mike Graham had a heated debate with former Kremlin advisor Alexander Nekrassov this morning, claiming his guest presenter was talking "balderdash" about Russia's involvement in the Sergei Skripal poisoning.
Nekrassov who joined Mike as his co-presenter, said it was nonsense to blame Russia and suggested Vladimir Putin would be crazy to have ordered this crime.
"Do you actually believe in the eve of the [Russian] Presidential elections and the World Cup, they’ve decided to carry out a chemical attack in the leafy town of Salisbury?" Nekrassov asked.
"Against, by the way, a former Russian spy, so that the link is immediately established that goes to Moscow."
Mike said "yeah I do believe it" and read a tweet from a listener about Crimea, to which Nekrassov responded "nobody's invaded Crimea."
Mike hit back: "All you’re doing is sitting here defending Russia, saying Russia’s never done anything wrong, when quite frankly that is balderdash.
"When the Syrian government is killing its own people and the Russians are helping them surely you would condemn that?"
Nekrassov suggested that Russia is not the guilty party in the Middle East, saying: "Britain is complicit in killing civilians in Iraq maybe, but not the Russians."
