One of the world's most famous footballers has thrown his support to a campaign to grant President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan greater powers in an upcoming referendum vote.
Barcelona's Turkish midfielder Arda Turan joined a social media campaign in support of this, along with a couple of his fellow players.
Turan, formerly of Atletico Madrid, has played for Barca since 2015 and is a key player for his country, although he was booed following Turkey's 3-0 defeat to Spain at Euro 2016.
The referendum on the presidential plan will take place less than a year after a failed coup which attempted to oust Erdoğan from power.
The planned changes will create a US-style system in Turkey, which they argue are needed in order to make the Government more efficient, but which have also raised fears it will ensure 'one-man rule'.
The referendum is expected to take place in the first half of April.
