A third individual has been arrested by Spanish police in connection with the terror attack in Barcelona.
Thirteen people were killed after a van was driven into crowds gathered on the street of Las Ramblas.
The authorities confirmed it had mounted the kerb and swerved to hit as many people as possible in an area filled with tourists and holidaymakers.
More than 100 people were injured in the incident, which took place just after 5pm local time on Thursday (4pm GMT) , and the van driver remains at large.
At this point, nothing is known about the new arrest other than where it took place.
The man was apprehended in Ripoll, over 100 kilometres away from Barcelona to the north.
Meanwhile authorities say the number of people who had died in the attack has risen to 14. The latest victim is a woman.
