Journalist Jim White spoke to Julia Hartley-Brewer about the football child sex abuse scandal this morning, suggesting allegations of abuse could soon arise in other sports.
The scandal erupted after former Crewe Alexandra footballer Andy Woodward said he was abused by coach Barry Bennell while he was a young player.
A number of other ex-players have subsequently made their own allegations, with several naming Bennell, a convicted paedophile who was admitted to hospital on Friday after a 'fear for welfare' incident.
White told Julia: "Unfortunately I think we're at the start.
"I have a feeling that what we're doing here is lifting a stone and there's some pretty unpleasant things underneath it. I have a feeling it's a bit like the Catholic church, with the scout movement, with a lot of other organisations.
"I don't think it's just going to be football."
White also said there was a widespread assumption that, while child sex abuse might take place in other walks of life, "not in football - we're all men here"
