Barry Bennell's sex abuse trial returns for a third day this morning, after the former football coach was branded a nightmarish predator by prosecutors yesterday.

The trial heard on Tuesday (January 9) that Bennell scared children with horror films and even put sheeps' heads in their beds, making them terrified and more likely to comply with his demands.

Laying out their case at the start of the eight-week trial, prosecutors also claimed Bennell would abuse boys while his girlfriend and then his wife were just yards away.

Bennell pleaded guilty to six charges relating to two boys at the start of the trial, having admitted a seventh offence at an earlier hearing. However he denies a further 48 charges.
