BBC Two has announced it is to produce a film about the scandal surrounding Harvey Weinstein.

The feature-length documentary is to focus on the rise and fall of the producer in the wake of the allegations of sexual harassment and assault which have rocked Hollywood in recent months.

It is to include interviews from a number of the actresses who have made accusations against him, in addition to journalists, producers, agents, and other members of the Hollywood machine who have yet to speak about the 65-year-old.

Patrick Holland, the station’s controller, called the breaking of silence in regard to Weinstein a “watershed moment” for wider society.

A number of figures in Hollywood – including A-list actresses like Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie – have made accusations against Weinstein.

The producer has faced claims of rape, which he has unequivocally denied and are being investigated by police forces in London, New York City, and Los Angeles.
