A sign which has appeared to warn bystanders to "beware of Jews" has caused outrage in a local London community.
The sign was placed in Stamford Hill - where an estimated 30,000 Haredi Jews reside - yards away from a synagogue.
When the sign was reported by a member of a local neighbourhood watch group, Hackney Council removed it.
Meanwhile, the incident has been trending on Twitter and been condemned by political figures.
Diane Abbott, the MP for Hackney North and shadow home secretary, called it "disgusting and unacceptable", while Labour MP David Lammy blasted it as "despicable, nasty behaviour."
Shomrim NE London, the group who discovered the sign, said an element of planning had gone into the planting of the sign.
