Blackley House explosion: man arrested on suspicion of endangering life

Greater Manchester Police have announced they have made an arrest in the Blackley house explosion incident. 

The house on Cecil Road, close to Manchester City's stadium, was almost reduced to rubble after a suspected gas explosion ripped through it at 12:40pm on Monday, leaving five people injured. The neighboring house was also heavily damaged. 

Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the other three were treated at the scene. 

Now, the force has said a 33-year-old man, one of the two taken to hospital - has been arrested on suspicion of causing an explosion to endanger life.
