Female suicide bombers in Nigeria are now carrying babies to avoid detection, a report has claimed.
Earlier this month two women detonated devices, killing themselves, two babies and four others in a town named Madagali, the BBC said.
They were believed to be regular citizens because they had children with them, and were able to pass a checkpoint, News24 reported.
Officials have warned that this could be a sign of a new "dangerous" trend, as the incident happened only a few weeks after two teenage girls blew themselves up.
This was also at a checkpoint, this time just outside the city of Maiduguri, and three civilians were wounded in the explosion.
Boko Haram is said to have used several women in suicide bombings.
It is feared that they may have been kidnapped before being sent on their mission.
