A caller on Drive with Delaney mocked Boris Johnson for accusing Saudi Arabia of orchestrating proxy wars in the Middle East.

The Government has distanced itself from Johnson's comments, suggesting his views do not reflect the official stance on Saudi Arabia - even though, as foreign secretary, Johnson is supposed to represent his Government on international affairs.

Caller Michael told Sam Delaney Johnson is "an embarrassment, he’s an imbecile," adding: “It’s all about the imbecile being heard, somewhere there’s a village minus it’s idiot, and it’s him."

Michael also wondered whether there is even an official government line on Saudi Arabia. He said: "They don’t know what Brexit means…so I don’t know what the government line is."
