Boris Johnson should start being honest with Britain, according to a leading Remainer who spoke to talkRADIO this morning.

James McGrory spoke to Julia after Johnson wrote an artice in The Sun, arguing that it will be intolerable for Britain to continue living under EU laws after Brexit.

McGrory, executive campaigner of Open Britain, said this seems a further example of division between Johnson and his cabinet colleagues, adding that "the clock is ticking and I'm not even sure the Government knows" what its position is.

The interviewee said he freely admitted there are pros and cons to Brexit, but the Leave lobby won't acknowledge this.

Instead, he said, Boris is "continuing to pretend we can have our cake and eat it," even though the whole point to this saying is that it's impossible.

Rather than trying to please everyone, McGrory said, Johnson should start to admit the realities of Brexit, and only then can he achieve his purported mission of uniting the country.
