Boris Johnson has called Donald Trump’s response to the Charlottesville incident “totally wrong.”
The Foreign Secretary made the comments in an interview with BBC Radio 4.
In the discussion, Johnson said the US president hadn’t distinguished between fascists and anti-fascists after the incident in Virginia, where one woman died.
Trump was heavily condemned for saying there had been violence on both sides, and for sticking with this position in a press conference at Trump Tower.
Despite this, the Foreign Secretary said the offer of a state visit was still “on the table” for the controversial US president, as the Queen had already issued an invitation.
