Jonny Gould has called for Tony Blair to "rethink his thinktank".
Over the weekend, the former prime minister created the Institute for Global Change, a think tank which he is insisting will fill the gap in the "centrist middle ground" of British politics.
The think tank will fight the rise of "authoritarian populism", which Mr Blair believes is currently undermining democracy.
Our presenter said the former Prime Minister was underestimating the resolve of Leave voters.
He said: "His [Blair's] new movement starts with ideas – a resource to represent the 48% who voted to remain in the E1U referendum. He believes the 52% will be eroded once they see the Brexit outcome.
"The thing is – so many disagree with his starting point of argument and therefore his conclusions as well.
“I really think he misunderstands the Leave voters. If he really believes the way you voted in the EU referendum is the difference between the open and closed mind, he should take a running jump.
“How dare the Remoaners cast leavers as a bunch of nimbies, only concerned with themselves as isolationists!
“If all we see is a repackaging of remainers' inability to see an alternative view of the leavers, he needs to rethink his thinktank thinking."
