Former Labour health secretary Alan Milburn has warned that social mobility in Britain is getting worse.
The Social Mobility Commission laid its State Of The Nation report before Parliament today, suggesting young 'treadmill' families will not do as well as their equivalents in the previous generation.
It pointed out that ownership of homes among people under the age of 25 halved in a decade.
Mr. Milburn, who chairs the commission, claimed this is "deeply corrosive."
