Charlie Mullins, founder of Pimlico Plumbers has said that he would rather have Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister than leave the European Union.
He told talkRADIO’s Eamonn Holmes: “If we can extend Article 50 then that has got to be good for everybody. Maybe by then we could get a new leader – a leader that can lead – a leader that can negotiate. We need breathing space at the moment.”
He added: “As much as I am a Conservative, and have been for many years, I would rather settle for Corbyn in there than I would for Brexit.
“We would only have to put with Corbyn for five years, where we could have to put up with leaving the EU for many years. That is the way I would look at it.”
'People are angry'
Mr Mullins added that Theresa May was stalling for time, as MPs are set to vote on seven amendments to the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.
“The amendments they want to bring in are the only thing we have got left,” he said,
“I think Theresa May is stalling for time at the moment. She is stalling and hoping that everyone will give in.”
He added that MPs' handling of the Brexit negotiations made people "angry".
He said: “Businesses are not being listened to and people are angry."
