A drone has captured the moment a car slammed into pedestrians in Virginia.

Anti-fascists had travelled to the scene of a 'Unite The Right' gathering to counter-protest the movement on 4th Street in Charlottesville.

A car was driven into the group and killed one woman, who has been named as 32-year-old Heather Heyer.

A 20-year-old man - named as James Alex Fields - has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the incident.

Now drone footage has emerged of the incident, acquired by Russia Today, which appears to show the exact moment the car smashes into the crowd.

The video also shows crowds fleeing as the car moves into the intersection.
