China has released a series of English language propaganda videos aimed at young children.

The videos, published by state run group China Daily, explain President Xi Jinping’s trade plan called the belt and road initiative, according to the South China Morning Post.

The videos have been uploaded to YouTube, despite the website being blocked in mainland China.

They feature children singing about how good the trade plan is and bedtime stories about the scheme.

The idea of the initiative is to connect more than 60 countries together and a two-day 'belt and road summit' will begin on Sunday (May 14) in Beijing.

Leaders from at least 29 countries are expected to attend the event.
