After a cockroach was found inside a woman's skull last week, news reaches us a man in China has suffered a similar problem.

The insect crawled around the 69-year-old's ear canal for three days before it was removed, the Daily Star said.

At first the man tried tweezers and toothpicks in an attempt to remove the cockroach, but after that failed, he resorted to pesticide.

Of course, whilst this killed the insect, he then had the not inconsiderable problem that it was still stuck in his ear, motionless.

The pesticide also meant that his ear started to swell and finally he gave in to the irritation and visited a hospital, where the insect was removed.

Surgeons then removed the insect, which measured 1cm long, with tweezers.

However, a doctor at the hospital said the best solution for removing the bug would have been to use clean oil to flush it out.
