There has been "some loss of life" in the tram which overturned in Croydon this morning, according to police.
Many people were able to be freed by fire crews, however 50 people have been taken to hospital and two people are still trapped.
Transport for London said the tram derailed just after 6am.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch is also on the way to the crash site to investigate the cause of the crash.
Residents living near the scene described hearing "a big crash."
