Stephen Bannon has been demonised by the media and the Democrats just need to accept the election result, according to a political commentator.
Bannon, a former executive chairman at conservative news outlet Breitbart, has been appointed as Donald Trump's chief strategist. He was also a chief executive in Trump's election campaign.
The appointment has been hailed by the Ku Klux Klan and received a firestorm of protest from people claiming that Bannon is a messenger of hate. However David Vance, who claims to be familiar with Bannon's work, told Sam Delaney the criticism has been way overblown.
"Stephen Bannon is a guy who I have a lot of respect for, who has been instantly demonised [by the media]," Vance said.
“The Democrats can’t get over the fact Trump beat them," he added. "“They need to get over themselves and suck it up."
He also believes: "What we’re going to see in the next couple days is the likes of Rudy Giuliani, a really qualified guy, becoming secretary of state."
