Donald Trump has claimed he will be revealing the winners of his very own fake news awards next week.
He made the announcement on Twitter by saying: “I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock.
“Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!"
Just last week supporters of his campaign were asked in an email to vote on news they deemed fake, in order to assist him in giving out the awards.
It asked recipients to respond to a poll of three choices of news where the options were "fake," "faker" or "fakest."
The email claimed "Americans are sick and tired of being lied to, insulted, and treated with outright condescension," according to The Hill.
It went on to say it is for this reason that the President is "crowning the 2017 KING OF FAKE NEWS before the end of the year."
The President first tweeted in November about the awards, where he suggested a competition between different news outlets that wouldn't include Fox News.
However, a poll completed by polling company Rasmussen Reports showed that most Americans would have voted Fox News as releasing the most fake news.
