Donald Trump has accused the FBI of running a "rigged systerm" after the bureau declared Hillary Clinton will not face criminal charges.
On October 29 the FBI reopened its investigation into Clinton's private email server, which concluded in July, having discovered a fresh tranche of emails pertaining to her time as Secretary of State. However investigators have now cleared her of any wrongdoing, echoing the conclusion reached in July.
In his letter to Congress on Sunday, just two days before America goes to the polls - FBI Director James Comey - who was heavily criticised for his decision to reopen the investigation - said the FBI had "worked around the clock" on the latest emails, with investigators finding no evidence of criminal activity.
Jennifer Palmieri, Clinton's communications director, said: "We're glad this matter is resolved."
However Trump said his Democratic rival was "protected by a rigged system" at a rally in Minnesota, adding: "Hillary Clinton is guilty. She knows it. The FBI knows it. The people know it."
