America doesn't want to fight against the UK's enemies such as Russia, but rather fight with them, George Galloway has said.

During the press conference held by Donald Trump and Theresa May, the Prime Minister said the two countries are "united in the recognition of Nato. Today we've reaffirmed our unshakeable commitment to this alliance."

Mrs May's remarks, however, appear to contradict Mr Trump's previous suggestion that Nato is obsolete.

George Galloway said: “This was a iron lady made of tin foil, trying to lead Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America, down the warpath.

"Mussolini went around the world threatening people with Hitler's army. Now Britain goes around the world threatening people with America’s army.

"But America’s army aren’t available now, because Donald Trump doesn’t want to fight the same enemies as [the UK].

"As a matter of fact he wants to fight alongside [the UK's] enemies against the real enemy, terrorism, Isis and Al-Qaeda."
