Donald Trump has used twitter to lament the fact that his son will no longer be raising money for children with cancer.

This comes after Eric Trump suspended his eponymous charitable foundation, which raises money for terminally ill children, because of cash-for-access concerns.

Trump Sr said it was a "ridiculous shame" that such a worthy charity has to close its doors because od a conflict of interest.

The Eric Trump Foundation website claims the charity has "donated and pledged nearly $30 million dollars" to children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The foundation holds several golf tournaments throughout the year to raise money at exclusive Trump Golf Clubs. They also hold Charitybuzz online auctions.

However there are concerns that donors to the foundation could be seen to be buying access to the Trump family.
