Reports claim Donald Trump will pull out of the Paris climate change deal.
Sources close to the administration claim Trump is already discussing the exit process with officials.
It is said a letter was sent to Trump from 22 Republican senators called on the US President to leave the deal, Axios claims this played a large part in the decision.
If Donald Trump does pull out of the agreement, which has been signed by 165 other countries, it could well undermine the accord.
The Rainforest Alliance commented on the President's climate views last year, offering a heavily critical stance.
President of the Rainforest Alliance Nigel Sizer said: "Even though we are justifiably cynical of a President-elect who does not believe in the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change, we have not lost hope.
"Even if Trump finds a way to make good on his threat to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, it could take years to do so. And a new President could reinstate our participation in his wake.
"Our refusal to panic must be accompanied by intensified efforts to fight climate change. The battleground may have shifted, but our mission and the big picture remain the same."
