Dubai is built on slavery and we should boycott the UAE and Dubai, says a leading journalist and feminist.

A woman who was arrested for extra-marital sex in Dubai after telling police she had been raped by two British men has had all charges against her dropped. The Dubai Public Prosecutor's office said "the act happened with the consent of the three parties in question."

Co-founder of Justice for Women Julie Bindel told Julia Hartley-Brewer: "Dubai is the worst place I’ve ever been in my life" and "it’s built on slavery." She believes cases like this are "purely about controlling women" as men would not be treated this way.

Bindel said that "this is gender apartheid, it’s disgraceful and we should have no part in this." The feminist added: "We should boycott Dubai, we should certainly stop any trade."
