EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick has claimed Monday's bus crash storyline was not referring to anything specific.
In Monday night's episode a bus crashed into the busy market as the driver appeared to have a heart attack at the wheel. Bosses have been forced to defend the show, after some claimed it bore similarities to terror attacks in Berlin and Nice.
talkRADIO reporter Johnny Seifert spoke to Borthwick at the National Television Awards last night, he said: "It's a fictional drama and it's not referring to anything specific.
"EastEnders is great and everyone will have an opinion. If you look at it, it wasn't any reference towards [the recent attacks] whatsoever in terms of how the accident occurred."
