Two easyJet pilots have been suspended after one of them posted videos on Snapchat during a flight.

Captain Michel Castellucci captured his co-pilot dancing as a cartoon avatar moved around on screen in one clip, while in another a virtual bird could be seen moving around the screen as his colleague filled in paperwork.

The videos, obtained by The Sun, were filmed during a flight from Paris to Madrid on Wednesday.

A passenger told the newspaper: "EasyJet pilot dancing during the flight. Irresponsible."

An easyJet spokesperson stressed the safety of the passengers "was at no point" compromised, but added the pilots would be spoken to as "this falls well short of the high standards easyJet expects of its pilots".

"It is not acceptable and is not representative of the thousands of highly professional pilots who work for the airline," they said. "We take this issue seriously and are investigating with the pilots involved."

The spokesperson added that the pair had been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
