A woman stole £700 worth of underwear from Victoria's Secret, a court has heard.

Ashleigh Grant was an employee at a branch of the chain when she allegedly took 48 pairs of underwear and six bras.

It is said she took the items on April 7 at the Bond Street outlet, according to Court News UK. However they were later returned to the shop.

The 19-year-old has admitted one count of theft, but claims the underwear she stole was only worth a total of £339.50.

Magistrate Avril Newman adjourned the case at Westminster Magistrates’ Court by saying, "there are too many question marks here.

"The amount is in dispute and the case will be adjourned for a Newton hearing."

The teenager is now set to appear at the City of London Magistrates’ Court on July 13.
