Former UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom has told talkRADIO that the idea of migrant teeth checks is"absurd" and a "red herring", and given his own typically forthright alternative.
When asked how he himself would judge a person's age, Bloom - who claims to be well-qualified due to his experience of organising junior rugby in Yorkshire - said: "A beard, a beard's a bit of a giveaway."
Bloom has previously courted controversy by referring to women as "sluts" and criticising the supply of aid to "bongo bongo land." He also hit reporter Michael Crick with a UKIP party brochure in 2013.
The former MEP was in typically abrasive mood when speaking to Sam Delaney, describing the Home Office as not fit for purpose and suggesting the creation of a refugee adoption agency in the UK.
