Two explosions in the Thai tourist resort of Pattani have left a reported 50 people injured.
The regional police commander has said that a vehicle containing a bomb was parked in front of the Big C shopping centre, before fire crackers were used to force people out of the building.
Once the first bomb was detonated, at roughly 2:10 pm, another explosion is believed to have followed as bystanders fled the area.
Images on social media show people being treated for various injuries in scenes of destruction, with debris littering the front of the shopping centre and smoke billowing from the building itself.
A video posted to Twitter also shows the moment the second bomb went off.
As of the moment, a military spokesperson has said no fatalities have been reported. However, local media claims the police have said one person is in a serious condition.
The Express is claiming the authorities believe the attack to be an act of violence by Muslim separatists in the south of the country.
Attacks by insurgent groups in the south of Thailand have increased in recent months after the government rejected a conditional offer for peace discussions.
