800 new jobs at Facebook have been brought to London as the company opens a new office.
The new digs, located just off Oxford Street in Rathbone Place, opened on Monday.
It is seven floors, and will include an “incubator space” for new business start-ups.
The office is the company’s biggest engineering hub outside of America.
Nicola Mendelsohn, the company’s vice president for the divisions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, said the opening of the new place showed how Facebook was committed to the United Kingdom.
Chancellor Philip Hammond and London Mayor Sadiq Khan also welcomed the news, making public statements to congratulate Facebook.
