A five-year-old boy has died at a refugee centre after being stabbed by a Afghan man in Germany.
Local media reported the story and said that the attacker was shot and killed by police.
Authorities were notified at around 4:50pm local time on Saturday (June 3) that people at a refugee shelter in Arnschwang had clashed, police said.
When police arrived they killed the Afghan man, but the Russian boy had already sustained serious injuries and died in the same place, according to Republica.
The boy's mother was also seriously injured in the attack, but was taken to hospital for treatment.
It is not yet clear if any incident had provoked the attack, or what the relationship between the mother and the perpetrator was.
Four others, including a policeman, were taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
Police have also asked for 18 residents from the shelter to be relocated temporarily, this includes three young children.
