Former Britain First leader Paul Golding is unwittingly raising money for refugees whilst he is in jail.

On Thursday he was sentenced to eight weeks in prison after he admitted breaching a High Court injunction.

The injunction prohibited him from entering any mosque in England and Wales.

The Rochdale Herald decided to use this to set up a Just Giving Page, where people can sponsor his jail time.

All proceeds will be given to The Refugee Council, despite Golding previously stating he was against accepting asylum seekers in the UK.

So far they have raised more than £800 in just a few hours.
