Former England football manager Graham Taylor has died aged 72, it has been revealed.

The news broke this afternoon, although the cause of Taylor's passing has yet to be confirmed.

Taylor managed Aston Villa, Watford and Wolves during a hugely successful managerial career at club level, although his time with England brought mixed results.

Highlights of Taylor's time in management included reaching the FA Cup final with Watford in 1984 and finishing second in the English First Division [the forerunner of the Premier League] with Villa in 1990.

He also worked for the BBC and became a hugely respected radio pundit.
