George Galloway calls pro-Israel caller 'radical fundamentalist nutcase' in row over Jerusalem

Ken reckons Israel has always been a Jewish city

George had little time for Ken's point of view

George Galloway got extremely annoyed with a religious caller who claimed Jerusalem is and has always been a Jewish city.

Ken, who currently lives in Newcastle, told our presenter that "God has a foreign policy," and Jerusalem - which is cited as a city of religious significance by both the Israeli and Palestinian sides - has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity.

He claims Mohammed never went to Jerusalem and God in fact gave the land to Israel to hold in perpetuity.

As if that wasn't enough, he also got George's name wrong, calling him James.

Our presenter, a prominent supporter of the Palestinian cause, dismissed Ken's views as "Old Testament Bible-thumping" and described almost everything he said was "nonsense" in an exchange which got ever more heated.

"I wonder about you," Galloway said, "sitting up there in Newcastle, under your burning bush, and fulminating this kind of tosh."

Galloway finished by calling Ken a "radical fundamentalist nutcase" and telling his producer never to let him on the show again.
