George Galloway: UK must sever all ties with the charnel house that is Saudi Arabia

George Galloway calls for UK to have nothing to do with 'charnel house that is Saudi Arabia'

A Saudi airstrike hit a funeral hall in Yemen

George Galloway has called for the UK to have nothing to do with Saudi Arabia as he claims it funds terrorism and has no democracy.

It has recently emerged that the UK approved arms sales to the country worth £283 million, just six months after Saudi-led forces killed at least 140 people by conducting an airstrike on a funeral hall in Yemen.

"The general case," Galloway said, "is that Saudi Arabia is a charnel house. It is a place that cuts the head off people for the slightest reason.

"It is a country with no democracy or freedom of any kind. It is a country that exports terrorism around the world and funds terrorism and extremism around the world.

"We should have nothing whatsoever to do with them."
