Boy in US finds a bag of meth in his new video game

The game contained quite a surprise

An 11 year-old boy bought a video game in Lake Charles, Louisiana, expecting nothing out of the ordinary.

But when he opened the case he found a bag of drugs - the sort of scenario which might be found in violent games such as Grand Theft Auto.

The father of the boy then returned to the shop and called police, who confirmed the finding was methamphetamine.

The game was bought from GameStop, however it has not been confirmed how the drugs ended up being sold. Regulations state that all games should be checked on trade-in and before being shipped to other stores.

GameStore also said they are unsure of the game's origin.
