Grenfell Tower: Adele backs petition to make fire inquiry panel-led

The singer called for people to be talking about 'what is still not happening' on Twitter

Adele has backed survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire in a call for Theresa May to restore faith in the inquiry into the tower.

The singer made clear of her support on Twitter, posting a link to a petition which is urging the Prime Minister to appoint individuals across a variety of backgrounds to sit next to Sir Martin Moore-Bick.

The retired judge is spearheading the investigation into the fire that engulfed the tower, killing 71 people inside of it.

Families of the victims and other survivors have been imploring the Prime Minister to give the panel leadership of the inquiry, rather than Moore-Bick.

Adele said people needed to be talking about “what is still not happening” six months on from the tragedy in her post.

The petition she linked to is reported to be backed by the families of around 50 victims.
