A man who lives near Grenfell Tower has told of how he lost his job due to the fire and says the council has been "absolutely rubbish".

The man, known as M, has been evacuated from his home which is near Grenfell Tower. He is currently staying with his aunt but does not know when he can return home.

M told Yasmeen Khan: "The community has been doing more than the council. The council's been absolutely rubbish."

Victims have "got nowhere to stay, hotels have been kicking them out," he said, adding that victims aren't "getting any emotional support.

"That’s probably why everyone’s gone angry...just to speak to the council you have to go to hell and back," he added.

M went on to explain he had been on probation at work: "I can’t do anything without worrying about what’s going on in that tower. I’ve lost my job over this.

"I’ve been calling off sick a lot of times. This was my last warning and I called off sick saying I can’t come in and they’ve told me not to come back."
