The man behind the Guido Fawkes political blog has said the exit polls are "a shocker."
Paul Staines, whose blog has been fiercely critical of Jeremy Corbyn, told Julia Hartley-Brewer that Corbyn has mobilised the youth vote, and in the process has "turned up all conventional thinking on how to run a campaign."
Staines said May's campaign really came undone when the manifestos were revealed and the Tories' social care policies turned into a debacle.
He told Julia: "May thought she was so clear ahead that she could put a different manifesto and punish her core supporters, like pensioners, which scared them."
Staines also criticised Theresa May for her lack of visibility during the campaign.
The Prime Minister, he said, was "hiding in corners, in workplaces, with loads of Tories around her. Corbyn, to be fair to him, was out there getting big crowds."
