Police in Los Angeles are looking into an allegation of rape against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said it was examining reports of a sexual assault that is reported to have occurred in a hotel near Beverly Hills back in 2013.

Concurrently, the Metropolitan Police in London are examining five allegations against the producer which are reported to have occurred from the 1908s to 2015.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) also revealed it was reviewing records and following reports in the newspapers in order to identify any previous allegations.

On Thursday, Lupita Nyong’o became the latest actress to make an allegation of sexual harassment against Weinstein.

She claimed he had tried to pressure her into massaging him in his bedroom in 2011 when she was a student in drama school.

The Oscar-winning actress claimed she left as he went to remove his pants and said she was part of the “growing community” of women who had suffered quietly and were speaking out.

Roughly 40 women have made claims against Weinstein, including numerous Hollywood A-listers like Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The producer has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
