Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein faces a new claim by a woman who says he forcibly performed oral sex on her while she was on her period.
Mimi Haleyi gave her account on Tuesday, saying the former Miramax mogul had assaulted her in his New York City apartment in 2006, when she was in her 20s.
Haleyi, a producer, said the incident came after she had been introduced to him at the London premiere of The Aviator in 2004, adding that Weinstein had subsequently put her on a TV show being produced by The Weinstein Company, which he founded after leaving Miramax.
She said she had agreed to visit his New York apartment in order to maintain a good relationship with him after rejecting numerous alleged advances.
Haleyi claimed Weinstein made sexual advances and backed her into what appeared to be a child’s bedroom, reportedly ignoring her insistence for him to stop.
The production assistant claimed he orally forced himself on her after removing her tampon, which her lawyer, Gloria Allred, described as a “new low.”
Weinstein is under investigation by police forces in New York, Los Angeles and London over sexual assault allegations, in a storm which erupted following an investigation by The New York Times.
His wife has left him and he has been forced out of The Weinstein Company, but he denies all allegations of non-consensual sex.
