The wrong winner was announced at the ceremony

Mistakes at this year's Oscars awards ceremony have overshadowed the news of any award winners.

The biggest blunder was seen when it was announced that film La La Land has won the award for Best Picture, as then just a few minutes later it was revealed that this was wrong.

In fact, Moonlight was the correct winner of the award, leaving the cast of La La Land who were already on stage stunned.

But it wasn't only this announcement that was wrong, a picture of film producer Jan Chapman was used in the Oscars’ In Memoriam montage.

Chapman is actually still alive and her picture was used next to the name of her friend, costume designer Janet Patterson who has passed away.

Many have been shocked and stunned by the blunders, and have taken to Twitter to express their views.
