A court has heard a young Indian Muslim was abducted, raped, and murdered in a suspected honour killing before her body was stuffed in a fridge.

Celine Dookhran, 19, was found dead at a location in Kingston, southwest London last week.

A second woman, who was also reportedly attacked alongside the teenager, had alerted the authorities from hospital. Dookhran's body was found in a fridge when investigators arrived.

It is alleged that the two women were tied up, gagged and abducted by masked men last Wednesday (July 19). They were both allegedly raped during the ordeal, before Dookhran was murdered.

A 33-year-old man, Mujahid Arshid, appeared before Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with two counts of kidnap and rape, one of attempted murder, and one count of murder.

The chief prosecutor told the court Dookhran had begun a relationship with an Arab Muslim man just prior to the attack.

Arshid and 28-year-old Vincent Tappu - who has been charged with kidnapping both women - will appear at the Old Bailey in August.
