A woman working as a maid in Indonesia has died, after allegedly being abused by the siblings who employed her.
The 21-year-old was taken to hospital after police officers were reportedly informed by an MP.
However the woman, identified as Adelina, passed away yesterday (February 11).
Although officers attempted to take a statement from the maid before she died, she would not speak as she was afraid.
Local residents told the New Straits Times that the woman was forced to sleep outside with a rottweiler owned by the family for more than one month.
It is claimed the woman had infected cuts on her legs and hands as well as severe head and face injuries when she was found by police.
Adelina is thought to have worked for the family for two years, Channel News Asia reported.
A 39-year-old man and his sister, aged 36, have been taken into custody by police as they are suspected of having employed the young woman.
Police say a post-mortem will be carried out in order to discover the reasons behind Adelina's death.
