We must uphold the rights of the Iranian people to protest and if there is a crackdown by the Government we must say it's not acceptable.
That's according to professor of international politics Scott Lucas. Unrest in Iran has led to the deaths of 22 people and the country has blamed the protests on its enemies, a claim the US has branded as "nonsense."
Lucas told Julia Hartley-Brewer: "What I believe we should do is we should always uphold the right of people the right of Iranians to be able to talk to their government."
