Islamic State has claimed the terror attack at Manchester Arena last night.

A suicide bomber detonated an improvised explosive as revelers left an Ariana Grande concert last night.

22 people - including children - were killed, and 59 were left injured.

The Islamist group made the claim through its Amaq news agency, saying the device had been planted by one of the "soldiers of the Caliphate."

Prior to its claim, social media accounts associated with the group celebrated the bombing earlier on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the attack.

The attack is the deadliest terror attack on UK soil since 52 people died in targeted suicide bombings on the London Underground in July 2005.
