A dual United States-Israeli citizen has been targeting Jewish community centres in America, the FBI told NBC

It has been reported that the suspect is 18 years old and lives in Israel.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that the suspect is likely to be behind anonymous bomb threats to several Jewish community centres in the US.

The motivation for the bomb threats is still unclear and the FBI and Justice Department officials say as the suspect is Jewish. The attack does not appear to be motivated by anti-Semitism.

The man is also said to have made threats in New Zealand and Australia.

The suspect is believed to have made calls from his bedroom, according to FBI and Justice Department officials.

Rosenfeld added that the suspect was able to use advanced technology to hide the origins of the calls.
